Also written as BUD, 'use by' or 'discard after'. If the label gives a number of days rather than a date, ask the pharmacy for the date; do not estimate it.

There is no other arithmetic. The tool does not compute a beyond-use date from a storage rule, does not convert between storage conditions, and does not know or care what the medication is. The pharmacy sets the date under USP standards for the specific preparation; this page only counts down to it.

For the two FDA-approved peptide products covered on this site, the labels themselves set the rule: Egrifta SV is used immediately after reconstitution and the rest discarded; Egrifta WR is discarded 7 days after mixing and its bacteriostatic water 28 days after first use; Vyleesi autoinjectors are single-use, stored at or below 25 C, protected from light.   • Today's date is read from your device clock in your local time zone; dates are compared as calendar days, not hours.
  • The beyond-use date is treated as inclusive: the day printed is the last day of use. Some pharmacies intend it as exclusive; if in doubt, treat the day before as your last day.
  • This tool is for medication a licensed prescriber prescribed and a licensed pharmacy dispensed with a beyond-use date on the label. It does not apply to products sold without a prescription or 'for research'.
  • Nothing here estimates stability, potency or sterility. A date that has not passed does not make a vial that was stored wrongly safe.

This calculator is an arithmetic aid for medication a licensed prescriber has already prescribed. It does not recommend a dose. Confirm any result with your prescriber or pharmacist before use.
